Reduced incidence of maternal health conditions associated with the home-based newborn care intervention package in Rural Gadchiroli, India: a 13 years before – after comparison

Background To evaluate the association between home-based neonatal care interventions and incidence of maternal health conditions as well to estimate longitudinal trend over 13 years in 39 villages field program area from rural Gadchiroli, India. Methods This was a before-after comparative analysis implemented thirty-nine The newborn were incrementally introduced during trial (1995 – 1998) continued service until 2008. Over thirteen (1995–2008), pregnant women recruited followed up seventh month pregnancy 28 days postpartum by trained female community workers who made antenatal, natal post-natal home visits, provided education mothers for behavior change, managed normal sick neonates encouraged seeking medical when necessary.
